Optional analytics

Google Analytics 4 is used to understand which pages are useful, how visitors find the site, and whether the site is working well. The analytics tag only loads after you accept optional analytics. It is not used on this site for personalised advertising.

If you accept, Google Analytics may process the page URL and title, referrer, approximate location, browser, device, interactions, and technical identifiers such as analytics cookies. Google processes IP addresses to provide approximate location information and says it does not log or store individual IP addresses for GA4.

Your analytics choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can change it at any time. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using the site.

Contact

If you contact me, I use the details you provide to respond and retain the conversation only as long as it is reasonably needed for that purpose or for applicable record-keeping obligations.

Hosting, security, and performance

Cloudflare hosts the site and provides network, security, and performance services. Like other web infrastructure providers, it processes request information needed to deliver and protect the site, which may include IP addresses, requested URLs, headers, and technical logs. Cloudflare Web Analytics may also collect aggregate page-view and performance measurements. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies, local storage, or fingerprinting to track individual visitors.

Retention and service providers

GA4 user-level and event-level data is retained for no more than 14 months; the property may use a shorter setting. Aggregated reporting may be retained for longer. Google and Cloudflare may process information in countries other than your own under their respective privacy and transfer safeguards.

Your choices and requests

You can decline or withdraw optional analytics and ask to access, correct, or delete personal information I control. Browser settings and Google's own controls can provide additional cookie and analytics choices.
